Mishcon de Reya New York LLP opens for business

Top London-based law firm Mishcon de Reya is going international. The New York LLP office opens its doors on January 19th, 2010. A team of 15 will staff the new office under Managing Partner James J. McGuire.

McGuire was a founding partner of US firm Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP’s New York office and former partner of international law firm White & Case.

It is Mishcon’s first move outside of its central London base. The New York LLP office will focus on providing a Rolls-Royce litigation service to its clients, whilst maintaining and enhancing its many other longstanding commercial arrangements with US law firms.

The Firm is delighted to welcome Jim McGuire as Managing Partner of the New York LLP office. He is a recognised expert in both civil and white collar criminal litigation. Furthermore, Jim has a proven track record in building and growing New York practices, most recently as the founding partner of Sheppard Mullin’s New York office.

Jim McGuire’s practice focuses on white collar criminal and complex litigation, internal investigations and international arbitrations. He has extensive experience in litigation matters at both the trial and appellate levels, and he has successfully tried over twenty jury cases to verdict. Jim will be joined by a further two litigation partners - Mark Berube and Tim McCarthy from Sheppard Mullin - together with a number of associates and support staff.
