Mishcon de Reya launches Mishcon Invest

Mishcon de Reya has today launched a business package for early stage and high growth businesses looking to raise seed capital or development capital from the Venture Capital or Business Angels community.

Mishcon Invest offers a free consultation with a corporate partner and a suite of documents to help ensure companies are given the best chance of success in preparing for their pitch.

Mishcon Invest was launched this morning at a legal master class for growing businesses, organised and hosted by the Firm. The event offered insight into raising money in difficult economic times and was held in association with StartUp Britain. Guest panelists included senior members of the management team from StartUp Britain, Baker Tilly, LDC Private Equity and Mishcon de Reya and was attended by over a hundred entrepreneurial clients.

Nick Davis, Head of Corporate at Mishcon de Reya, said: “We recognise that in these current difficult economic times, capitalising on opportunities for growth is critical. At the same time, we know from the survey we commissioned at the end of last year with the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), that Project Merlin, the government's initiative to boost high street lending to SMEs has had a disappointing impact on London's business community.

“It is therefore more important than ever to look at alternative methods of funding, and Mishcon Invest is just one way we can give our clients a better chance of success as they prepare to approach a VC or Business Angel."

Mishcon de Reya is actively committed to supporting UK entrepreneurialism and the Government’s call to an enterprise-led recovery. In November 2010, the Firm commissioned and co-authored ‘The Entrepreneurship Report’, in conjunction with the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). The findings of this report provided the organisations with valuable insight into the areas in which entrepreneurs require support and guidance, and have helped shape initiatives such Mishcon Invest.
