Mishcon de Reya advises Mission Media on 4D Nokia Lumia light show
A state-of-the-art Nokia Lumia light projection display which transformed London's Millbank Tower into a 118 metre high canvas was masterminded by PR company Mission Media, a client of Mishcon de Reya.
During the 30-minute display, "4D" images set to music by Canadian DJ deadmau5 were cast onto 800 windows on the landmark building. Lights in surrounding buildings and street lights were turned off, and the illusion was visible from both banks of the Thames.
The show, which screened on 28 November, marked the release of the Nokia Lumia 800 smartphone, created in collaboration with Windows.
Mishcon de Reya's Real Estate Department advised Mission Media on the legal aspects of the display including a projection licence, advice regarding other occupiers of the building, regulations and intellectual property issues. The team included solicitor Nick Kirby, associates Daniel Farrand and Laura Odlind (all real estate) and Mary Guinness (IP). Legal director Helen Croft (employment) oversees the Firm’s relationship with Mission Media.
