IP Boost at Mishcon de Reya

Mishcon de Reya is delighted to announce the appointment of Simon Tracey and two associates from Davenport Lyons to the Firm’s Intellectual Property (IP) Group.

Simon Tracey will join Mishcon de Reya on 22 June 2009 from Davenport Lyons where he is currently Head of IP & Brands and leads the firm’s trade mark filing and prosecution team. He is an acknowledged expert in all IP issues confronting consumer-facing brands, with extensive experience acting for leading international retail, fashion and FMCG brand owners along with high profile music, film and entertainment personalities.

Simon is a qualified, though non-practicing, barrister focused on trade mark, passing off, registered and unregistered design right, copyright, domain name, confidential information/trade secrets, image rights, anti-counterfeiting and sports law advice. In addition, Simon has been instructed to conduct numerous high profile trials, appearances in the Court of Appeal and co-ordinating claims in a wide range of foreign jurisdictions (reported cases include Just Employment Law, Bespoke Couture/Ozwald Boateng, GMG Radio/Hed Kandi, Rachmaninoff and globalCOAL).

Mishcon de Reya’s Intellectual Property team, headed by Jeremy Hertzog advises an impressive list of global brands. The team is particularly renowned for helping brand owners fight counterfeiting using its award winning service, Tulip® (Turning Losses into Profits).
