Mishcon de Reya's Property Partner honoured with CBE for services to Property Law

Mishcon de Reya is delighted to announce that Philip Freedman, a senior property partner, has been awarded a CBE for his longstanding services to property law.

Philip, an acknowledged expert on property law, chaired the Government sponsored cross-property industry Joint Working Group on Commercial Leases in England and Wales which produced the Commercial Lease Code. He is a member of numerous, high profile property law committees, such as: the drafting committee of the Standard Commercial Property Conditions and the Standard Conditions of Sale, the Law Society's Conveyancing & Land Law Committee, the Government's Sounding Board on the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954, the consultative group on Commonhold, and the working groups on Home Information Packs.

Philip specialises in all aspects of property and landlord and tenant law and advises developers, investors, and lenders, as well as major property occupiers. He advises on a wide range of matters from investment and development acquisitions to landlord and tenant, service charge issues, lease renewals and rent reviews and is also involved in high value leasehold enfranchisements.

In his spare time Philip is a prolific author and lecturer and acts as a third party arbitrator or expert on property law disputes.
