Mishcon de Reya hires Sears Tooth Number Two

In a significant and exciting move, Mishcon de Reya’s Family Department is delighted to announce the appointment of a new partner to the Firm. David Lister joins this prominent team from Sears Tooth where he was partner alongside founder Raymond Tooth.
David Lister has over 20 years experience in all aspects of family law dealing predominantly with separation or the breakdown of marriage, related funding and costs matters as well as contentious Children Act applications. He also has an interest in complex ancillary relief applications – often with an international element – enforcement of ancillary relief orders and claims under the Trust of Land and Appointments of Trustees Act 1996.
David will be joined at Mishcon de Reya by Sears Tooth Assistant Solicitor, Melanie Whyatt.
The fiscal year of 2006-2007 was by all accounts, Mishcon de Reya's finest year as well as being a stellar year for its Family Department. David Lister joins the Department at an exciting time with unprecedented fee income growth – up 20% at the end of the last fiscal year - several high profile cases and numerous, varied new clients. He is expected to bring his wealth of knowledge and experience to this thriving team.

David Lister and Melanie Whyatt’s appointments bring the Family Department to a total of three partners, one consultant, ten assistants, two trainees and a clerk.
David and Melanie will start at Mishcon de Reya in January 2008.
