Mishcon de Reya advises The Caledonian Operating Company Limited on its £50 million purchase of the Caledonian Hotel, Edinburgh

Mishcon de Reya has advised The Caledonian Operating Company Limited, backed by the HBOS banking group, on its acquisition of the landmark Caledonian Hotel in Edinburgh from the Hilton Hotels group for a consideration of £51.7 million.
The Mishcon de Reya team was led by Real Estate Partner, Ian Paul, and Corporate Partner, Ross Bryson, assisted by Tax Consultant, Belinda Bridgen and Real Estate Partner, James Garton. Gillian Downie of Maclay, Murray & Spens advised as to Scottish law.
A spokesman for The Caledonian Operating Company Limited commented, "The strength and depth of the Mishcon de Reya transactional team was impressive. Their deal management was of a particularly high standard and was key in maintaining control of the many commercial, technical and transaction-specific aspects of the deal".
Hilton Hotels Group were advised by David Ryland of SJ Berwin and McGrigor Donald (as to Scottish Law) while HBOS were advised by Chris Dun of Maclay, Murray & Spens.
