Mishcon’s double property hire

Continuing the growth of its real estate department Mishcon de Reya is delighted to announce the appointment of James Garton and Mark Baker as partners, enhancing the well regarded department with two further top quality lawyers.

At Mishcon they will be reunited with their former colleagues Daniel Lipman, Geoff Hayhurst, John England and Nicola Bishop from Berwin Leighton Paisner and will augment the department’s considerable experience and expertise in a diverse range of specialist real estate work.  The real estate group has now grown to 13 partners, supporting its considerable industry reputation as it increases in size and market share.

James Garton joined BLP after some 6 years at Nabarro Nathanson, becoming a partner at BLP in May 2004.  Jim is a highly skilled practitioner in all areas of commercial property investment and development and has additional experience of the property aspects of complicated structured property finance transactions and secured lending together with considerate experience of acting for corporate occupiers in relation to their own premises.

Mark Baker has worked closely with Jim Garton at BLP also joining that firm in early 2004 from Nabarro Nathanson.  He is experienced in all aspects of commercial property acquisitions, disposals, development (including development funding), secured lending, letting and pre-letting.
