Mishcon de Reya acts for Earls Court & Olympia in its £55 million acquisition of The Brewery, Chiswell Street

Mishcon de Reya has today completed the £55 million acquisition of The Brewery, Chiswell Street and associated properties, from Whitbread Group plc, for the internationally renowned event venues company Earls Court & Olympia Group.

St James Capital will own and manage the associated property portfolio around Chiswell Street and will be looking to enhance the surrounding buildings over the next few years.

The Mishcon de Reya team for this Opco/Propco structured acquisition was led by Corporate Partner Larry Nathan and Property Partner Daniel Lipman with the back up of all requisite specialist advice including that provided by our Head of Corporate Tax, Belinda Bridgen and Head of Planning, Oliver Goodwin. Assistant Mark Levine provided employment advice. 

Daniel Lipman’s arrival from Berwin Leighton Paisner consolidates and enhances Mishcon’s relationship with Earls Court & Olympia since he had also acted for them previously.

The Mishcon de Reya team were able to exchange on the Opco/Propco structured acquisition in just three days as part of a bidding process at the end of which the clients were the successful party. The team was involved in advising the client throughout the bid process, reviewing title certificates of all the title assets owned by the Whitbread Brewery business and marking up the business transfer documents.
