Market

A report by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and KPMG has said that recruitment of staff, including permanent workers and temps, will rise sharply over the October-December quarter but another survey by de Poel has found that 70% of recruitment companies expect a shortage of temps over the Christmas period.

Trends / Practice

The annual Recruitment Industry Trends Survey, compiled by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation and Barclays Corporate, has shown that the entire recruitment industry is worth 12% less than it was 12 months ago, with permanent placements turnover falling by 25% and temporary placements turnover falling by 10.4%.
