Disclosure of IHT avoidance: regulations made

HM Treasury has now made regulations to extend the regime to cover inheritance tax avoidance on lifetime transfers of assets by individuals into most trusts. The regulations will take effect from 6 April 2011.

Before this date, HMRC intends to publish a “white list” of existing schemes and arrangements that will not need to be disclosed under the new rules.
