Expertise

Mary specialises in contentious and non-contentious intellectual property.  Her non-contentious work includes all aspects of the exploitation of IP and related rights, such as licensing and franchising agreements, distribution agreements and corporate acquisitions in all industries, but with particular emphasis on the life sciences and retail sectors.  Mary also advises clients on the regulatory aspects of launching pharmaceutical and biotech medicines in the EU and UK.  Mary's contentious work covers patents, trade marks, design rights and copyright disputes.

  • Arrogant Cat Limited v ASOS plc successfully pursuing ASOS plc for infringement of an unregistered Community Design involving the issuing of proceedings 
  • Advising Clasado Inc on the logistics and supply arrangements relating to the wholesale and retail launch of the Bi²muno product
  • Advising Crew Clothing Co Limited on its franchising agreements in Dubai, Guernsey and Ireland
  • Advising Alexion on the UK regulatory requirements for the launch of its orphan drug SOLIRIS for the treatment of PNH, including the pharmaceutical pricing issues
  • Advising Javelin Pharmaceuticals Inc on the UK/European regulatory requirements for the launch of its Dyloject NSAID analgesic and Rylomine, a narcotic analgesic.
